HISTORY
Shippers Choice incorporated in the state of Texas in January 1987. We operated as a truck brokerage from 1987 until 1996. Recognizing shipper demands for more extensive services and involvement, in 1996, we became licensed as a domestic freight forwarder. We have been operating continuously as a freight forwarder ever since.

CURRENT OPERATION
As our operation grew, we purchased a 16,000 square foot facility in 2005 as our permanent headquarters in Wenatchee, Washington. We are now a Washington corporation making the change in January 2007.

After completely remodeling and retrofitting one of two floors for high speed fiber technology, we moved our operation to our current location in May of 2006. We now have the infrastructure to match the growth and demands of our customers as they expand.

Our staff currently numbers 11 employees at our headquarters location and expanding. We have 7 independent contractors located in various parts of the United States.

SPECIALTY
We specialize in the transport of nursery products from west coast shipping areas. In addition to nursery, we transport beer, frozen foods, fresh fruit and vegetables, grocery and manufactured product. We provide transportation to over 200 shippers throughout the United States and Canada.

CARRIER BASE
Over 2,400 carriers are under contract with Shippers Choice. Each carrier is carefully screened for their on-time delivery, safety record and credit history. Those who do not meet our rigid standards are not accepted. We maintain current files of documentation on every carrier used and require annual updates on insurance and safety records.

To meet industry payment preferences, we have shortened our payment time for carriers from 30 days to a standard of 21 days with options for shorter payment right down to instant payment and advance payment where appropriate. Our new business model provides carrier payment within 96 hours.

EXCITING NEW BUSINESS MODEL
Shippers Choice is now in the process of rolling out our new breakthrough web-based business model providing complete transparency to the shipper and carrier on every freight shipment.

We have created a true market environment where rates are negotiated through bidding on each and every shipment. The shipper and the carrier both see what rates are being offered. Both see the freight forwarder fee as third party agent. Everything is open and above board. Our 3PL rates are kept to a minimum; our compensation increases with the volume of transactions we handle. Everyone benefits.

In development for over three years, our process is bound to make a significant impact in the market. Shippers and carriers can participate in a service auction while maintaining the services of a professional freight forwarder.

That’s an important point! Although we are introducing breakthrough technology, we are not changing the services offered by Shippers Choice. There are simply better choices than ever, so shippers can control their costs and the amount of services they prefer and carriers can choose the payment terms they prefer.

As a Freight Forwarder, Shippers Choice GUARANTEES PAYMENT to the carrier and is RESPONSIBLE to the Shipper for the freight transported. We carry primary cargo and liability insurance as required by law.
